Bio
Dr. Alaoui received her B.S. and M.S. from the University of Orleans and her Ph.D. in solar physics from the Catholic University of America. Her prior research appointments include the Space Sciences Laboratory (UC Berkeley) and LESIA, Observatoire de Paris-Meudon. She joined the University of Maryland in 2022.
High-energy solar astrophysics; X-ray imaging spectroscopy; kinetic/transport modeling of flare-accelerated electrons; energy transport by electron beams and co-spatial return currents in collisional and collisionless plasmas; conditions for anomalous dissipation and runaway-electron generation along flare loops.
