Dr. Michael O’Connor is an industry executive, educator, and innovation leader with more than 35 years of experience in the medical technology and healthcare manufacturing sectors. He has held senior leadership roles at Medtronic, where he led large-scale initiatives in product development, project management, engineering management, and global program execution. Dr. O’Connor has guided multidisciplinary teams across research and development, quality, operations, and commercialization to deliver complex medical technologies from concept through market launch.
In addition to his industry leadership, Dr. O’Connor has extensive academic experience and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in engineering management, project management, strategy , IT/IS, and product development at several universities. His teaching focuses on bridging academic theory with real-world industry practice, particularly in innovation management, technology commercialization, and complex project execution.
